Sustainable harvested wood is one of green concept material that can be used for making furniture. Brent Comber, a designer from North Vancouver who has an art and design studio especially from wood material, designed some wooden furniture series to give us more choise in green furniture concept.
This type of design will always give you a close to nature. This concept features branches which have been bundled together and cut into geometric forms. Comber made different shades of furniture including wooden chairs, tables, and lampshades with small holes drilled in the side to let light through. In my opinion, this furniture can be a wonderful piece of art for our home decor.

Patchwork is usually used for quilting and bedcovering. But Lisa Whatmough, a British designer, has used patchwork technique in different way for her Squint Limited company. She adopted it for covering her funky furnitures become unique and fun product. That’s an extraordinary technique I ever see.
She combined various old textille collection and period furniture with traditional way by using tied springs and hand stitched seams. Her designs look colorful and cheerful. She made the chaise longues, cabinet, chair, and many other furniture types. Perhaps her design can be an inspiration for you to recycle some old fabric and furniture instead of putting them to the storage. Go green!
Amy Hunting has her own brilliant design in recycled wood furniture. The recycled wood she uses comes from the factories waste in Denmark. They are glued together without screwing or bolting for forming them into chair, book box, and lamps. Here are her work.
This book box has built in stands of book which you can use for placing different book size without falling over. The dimensions are W: 35cm, H: 47cm, D: 35cm.
This is the same box with the first one, but it’s with different flip. You can use the boxes on the side, so the legs then become additional shelves. Even you can hung on the wall or stack on top of each other.
