I am an avid home chef and a fervent hater of nonstick cookware. I went through so many sets of nonstick in my early married years, everything from the “whole kitchen in a box” set I got as wedding gift to a “top of the line” set that my mother-in-law gave me years later. I babied the stuff, but it still wound up scratched and peeling and in the trash. And, I never liked the cooking performance of any of it. So, many years ago I threw it all out and bought an 18/10 stainless set- which I love and praise to anyone who will listen, and have never had to replace a single piece of. BUT, even I will admit that it’s tough to get a decent fried egg from a stainless pan, so I kept an 8″ nonstick skillet around just for that purpose. It was needing to be replaced so I decided to go with hard anodized. Hesitantly, I was going to get another brand with the teflon type finish. Then I saw this, and liked the idea of the the ceramic type finish. I can’t tell you how much I love this pan. It fries beautifully. Sears salmon and steaks. Cleans with a wipe and a rinse. I have had this for a couple of months, used it MANY times, and am getting ready to buy the 12″ for bigger jobs. Even my 8 year old can make beautiful(no tears)fried eggs with it. Oh, and did you know that you can thaw meats faster in it. Hard anodized is an amazing conducter of heat, so it pulls the cold out of the food. Just set it on the counter (covered) and wait about 20 minute (depends on thickness of the meat) turn it over once and voila you have thawed meat.
Please note that when you read all the positive reviews that they are from brand new pans. This review is after using the pan for just less than 2 months. I was so excited to buy this pan! After reading so much about non stick pans and how unhealthful they are I was really psyched to come across this one and purchased the 12″ after frustrating results with the upkeep and care necessary to keep an iron skillet relatively stick free. This pan was great and I almost bought a whole bunch of them after about a week. Eggs, pancakes, sandwiches, sauces, etc. Nothing stuck. Then it slowly started to stick. I was careful with the cleaning, we use olive oil and butter to fry, but now, merely two months after purchasing it, it sticks like crazy. NOTHING doesn’t stick to this pan. It’s even hard to clean. I am sure that technology will come up with a ‘new improved’ non toxic non stick surface, but this, sadly isn’t it. It’s like buying a brand new model car when you should have waited for them to get the kinks out. They have to be getting mail from people like me all the time. This pan stinks.

Earth Pan II by Farberware 10-Piece Cookware Set, Espresso Reviews
I have been using this set non-stop for over a month. I love it – it is the best non-stick surface I’ve ever used. I haven’t had any problem with carbon build-up, but then again, I don’t use non-stick cooking sprays – I use an oil spritzer. The difference between the two is that non-stick sprays contain soy lecithin which is totally fine and won’t harm you in the least, but it builds up on your cookware over time. As long as you avoid these, any non-stick cookware should last you for years, assuming you use wooden or silicone utensils. I love that they are oven safe because the handles are silicone instead of rubber.
I purchased this cookware about a month ago and am very pleased with it. The terra cotta color is beautiful in my kitchen and most important the nonstick surface works. I liked the idea that it does not contain harmful chemicals. I have never had nonstick pans last forever, so don’t expect these too, but if they do peel, they shouldn’t be a health hazard. So far, no peeling and great nonstick cooking.

Since my old outdoor grill was recently retired, & this is not the time of the year to purchase a new one, I decided to buy this pan instead. I have to say that it does as good a job at grilling meat as my gas barbeque did. It grills vegetables & fish perfectly. Overall, I am very pleased with this item & would highly recommend it.
The pan is really non stick and is easy to clean. The way the handle is constructed it does not get as hot as other handles. Delighted to have it since we got rid of our outdoor grill! May try the other pans in the same series.

I was very reluctant to buy this product, because some of the other reviews have been less than favorable. However, I am VERY happy with my new pan and plan to buy a couple more.
The non-stick coating is amazing. Everything slides off the pan so easily! In fact, it is better than Teflon, and it doesn’t have all the dangerous chemicals that Teflon has.
I have noticed that other reviewers complained of their pans chipping after some time. I guess this doesn’t surprise me, since the pan is ceramic and my ceramic plates often chip too. So, I’m a little more careful with this pan than other pans, but it has been absolutely fabulous! I would recommend it to everyone.
I just love this frying pan. I wish I had been able to purchase a lid for it. Would highly recommend this pan. In the future am going to purchase more products made by Starfrit.

The non-stick properties are very good and I assume are a reliably non-toxic alternative to teflon-type products. One caveat I have is to treat the surface very gingerly. After only the first use I did notice a small, but deep, chip in the cooking surface. The cooking surface is black and the chip revealed a white pock mark. I used the utensil as advised with no cutting etc. within the pan. The only conclusion I came up with is that the chip occured during storage with other pots and pans in a cabinet I have dedicated to this purpose. Since then I store it on top of the stove after cleaning with no other utensils inside, on the cooking surface. No more scratches. I was disappointed to read that the warranty does not cover what the manufacturer calls “superficial” damage to the cooking surface. Be careful. If the pan continues in its’ current state for the normal life expectency of a pan I guess the extra care needed is worth the price of avoiding the toxicity of tradtional non-stick surfaces. Eggs slide right out without a spatula.
The pan came damaged, a bit out of round. It wasn’t damaged intransit to me since the box was in excellent condition. So it was damaged before it was shipped to me. I kept the pan since it didn’t affect the cooking ability, it is a wonderful pan. I can cook with much less oil and it cleans up so easy…

Well I was hoping I could give a review on this product. Here goes:
It was received in a very timely manner! I use this pan almost every day. Seems to be of a better quality than the teflon non stick options out there. I love that it does NOT contain the harmful stuff thats in teflon, dupont, etc. Nice size, color and love the handle too, its silicone. Its very easy to handle and has a nice feel to it!
I L-O-V-E it!!!!!!!! I believe the price was a fair price for such good quality! Seems to be easier cleanup than other pans…SO GLAD I made the purchase. I only hope they come out with more items-like perhaps a 3 or 4 or 5 qt. sauce pot. I dont remember seeing any. Perhaps sometime in the near future; If and when they do, and I IF I can afford more of these “Earth Pans-I would definitely buy more!!!!!!!
This pan is everything it’s promised to be. Easy to clean and I feel good about not adding any chemicals to food.
