Oldenlandia is a weed plant belonging to the Rubiaceae family and is known by the name of the square grass, pearl leaf, or a snake’s tongue. This grass thrives in damp soils, bare, wet garden, and even gutter. 4. It has many branches and leaf stems.
  5. It has 2-5 cm long of cross leaf and the tip of leaf is like a true leaf instead of common grass leaf

In China, this plant was discovered by botanist Bernard Oldenland Denmark Henrik, which is better known and called as Shui Xian Cao and is already known efficacious to overcome various diseases. This grass is not like the ordinary grass, but its chemical substances are capable of inducing or stimulating blood flow and useful to address the other complaints.

The nature of the plant is a little bitter sweet, soft, neutral, and slightly cold. It also has been known since the common ancestor to relieve fever and hepatoprotector.

Next, how to use this plant as medicines for certain diseases? Let’s explore more.

  • Relieves bruises and sprains
Take some Oldenlandia leaves and then wash thoroughly. Mash the whole plant and place in the sick body parts. It’s nothing wrong with adding a topical oil to provide more benefits.
  • Stimulates blood flow.
Prepare 100 grams of Oldenlandia. Wash them and then boil with five glasses of water (drinking glass with size = 250 ml each), and leave it until two cups. To make it not too tasteless, you can add rock sugar or honey. If you have a blood sugar disorder, you should not drink it with cane sugar, or even you can drink it without any mixing materials.
  • As an antioxidant beverage.
Take 50-60 grams of fresh Oldenlandia, then wash it. Combine ginger to taste. Boil 3 cups of water to 2 cups remaining. Cool and strain it, then have a glass of the liquid twice a day. Add honey if desired.
  • Drugs for the injury caused by hot water.
Take the fresh plant (leaves and stems) of Oldenlandia. Wash them and then boil all items with enough water. Use this boiled water to wash the scalded body. After that, spread with the sap of Aloe Vera every a half hour in order to make the wound dry quickly and to prevent an infection.
  • Appendicitis
50 grams of Oldenlandia, wash it and boil with 4 cups water to 2 cups remaining. The stew is taken 2 times a day, 1-cup each for 7 days.
